The urgency of estimating the content of nitrates in food products to ensure environmental safety at an individual level is discussed in the article. Data on the negative effect of increased nitrate content in plant foods on human health are given. The results of the study on the determination of the content of nitrates in food products using a household nitrate counter "Soek nuk-019-2" are discussed. This device makes a conclusion about the concentration of nitrates by comparing the reference electrical conductivity of different types of vegetables / fruits with the electrical conductivity of a particular controlled product. It is determined that exceeding the MPC is observed in potatoes and onions, which are sold through a network of stores that occupy leading positions in the prevalence in Taganrog. Excess of MAC in carrots is observed only in its central part (core). Based on the results obtained, practical recommendations are given to ensure the safety of food consumption.

About 6 billion people use mobile phones in the world today. Unambiguous information about the potential dangers to human health from the use of a mobile phone is not present. The World Health Organization classifies radio emission from mobile phones as potential carcinogens. However, studies in recent years in most cases do not confirm this. Availability uncertain risks makes particularly urgent training of safety culture to use mobile devices. These security rules often referred to: the use of telephone for a short time, is strictly necessary; failure to use the phone in the area of bad reception; storage and charging the phone at a distance from the rest position (sleep); phone is not wearing on the body? but in the bag, and so on. 94 SFU students were interviewed to determine this aspect of safety culture. It turned out that only 30% of respondents characterized by a sufficient level of safety culture in the use of mobile phones. It determines the relevance of the formation of the culture of safety aspects in the teaching of discipline "Life Safety" at the university.

In modern society, the factors adversely affecting the health of students, added another: the use of non-normalized electronic devices (cell phone, computer, tablet) in the educational and leisure sectors. The study confirmed the hypothesis that the students, who often use electronic devices (cell phone, computer, tablet) are disorders of the visual system. Our results emphasize the need for preventive measures among students: teaching students the skills of visual gymnastics, promotional and preventive activities that contribute to the education of students of the valuable relation to their health and maintain their visual health.
